By: Deepak Hiremath & Associates, Hubali.
Publisher: New Delhi Burda Media India Private Limited 2019Edition: Vol.36(6), June.Description: 68-74p.Subject(s): URBAN PLANNING AND DESIGN (AR-UPD)Online resources: Click here In: Architecture+DesignSummary: An iconic yet earth hugging structure which would not stand loud and yet be an iconic image of simplicity was a core requirement and concept in designing this building. The relationship between architecture and the environment is a complex interaction of site, climatic conditions, technology, building materials and human life. This encouraged seeing things differently, which in turn inspired to work on a concept that is more climate responsive, environment-friendly and which would reduce the energy consumption and would allow more light and ventilation into the spaces. The result of this thought process helped to design the form which is more function oriented and aesthetically natural. The green building concept was the key to achieve this requirement; this would save the maintenance costs in terms of energy consumption in future.
